We’re now less than five months from Christmas, and the majority of retailers are well-advanced in planning how they will handle their busiest time – Are you?
Act like a Pro and make your life as easy as possible by planning well in advance of the festive season. By planning in advance, you avoid the increased pricing especially created for the season, the slower delivery systems due to high volumes, the crowds in the shops, the panic buying because you don’t really know what to buy, and the list goes on…….
Thinking into the future allows you to make sensible choices, and not only lets you buy items online, but ensures that you receive them with plenty of time to spare. It also stops you from over spending, which we can all be tempted to do when in a Superstore or department store, surrounded by gorgeous things.
If you intend on making your gifts this year, you will also need the time to find and buy your supplies and then time to actually make your items. No matter what you are making, you need to leave enough time for any prep work and failures that may occur. e.g. Paint not drying properly, fragile items being accidentally dropped, etc, etc. These things happen and you don’t want them happening when the stores are out of stock of your supplies, and just a few days before Christmas.
Many people end up shopping last-minute because they put off the inevitable. Instead, make a plan with solid goals, dates, and timelines. (For instance, shopping will be done by December 1st. I will put aside 2 evenings, twice a week for 2 weeks to accomplish this task.) Leave some wiggle-room in case something comes up, but don’t keep making
excuses. It can help to have someone who is good about shopping to keep you on track.
With your gifts done and dusted and out of the way, your friends and family will wonder how you did it and how you keep so calm and organized throughout Christmas.
Remember, being prepared is half the victory!
Bye for now!!!!!
